About Abe Fettig

My name is Abe Fettig, and I write software. I specialize in making it easier and more fun to communicate and share information over the Internet. I've been creating web and Internet applications since 1998.

Since 2006 I've been working for Google. I joined Google when they acquired my previous employer, JotSpot. At JotSpot I worked as a software engineer, helping to develop the world's first (and best) application Wiki.

I've also worked on several open source projects, most notably Hep Message Server, which makes it possible to transfer and manage messages between blogs, email, and rss feeds. In 2004 I released Yarn, a software package that makes much of the functionality of Hep available to all applications that use the Twisted networking framework.

My book Twisted Network Programming Essentials was published by O'Reilly in 2005.

I live in Portland, Maine with my wife, Hannah. Most of the time I work out of my home office, but I periodically visit the San Francisco Bay area to catch up with my colleagues in person. You can contact me sending email to abe at fettig dot net.
